Your Session

Most sessions typically last about an hour. However, I deliberately schedule enough time between each session to ensure that animals won't cross paths, and it also allows me the flexibility to work at a slower pace with nervous pets who may require additional time.

Working with animals is a unique experience as they don't communicate in our language. It requires patience and understanding. Over the past three years, while searching for the perfect space, I dedicated myself to educating on how to effectively work with animals, allowing me to capture that perfect image for you to cherish on your wall.

I have developed my own set of techniques to achieve the desired look or help animals comprehend our instructions. Each and every animal is unique, so no two sessions are alike. I have worked with champion show pets as well as wild and energetic ones. Even if your pet is not the most well-behaved, it doesn't mean we can't create amazing images together. You see, the sessions are a collaborative effort between you and me, and depending on the number of pets you bring, we may even have extra hands on deck. Together, we will not only create wonderful memories but also capture beautiful portraits of your family.

How it Works

Session Fee

To secure your desired date, a session fee of $195 is required upfront. This fee covers various components, including an optional consultation, a one-hour studio session, and a one-hour purchase appointment. As a bonus, you will also receive a complimentary matted 5x7 print, valued at $95.

Pre-Consultation

You will have the flexibility to choose between a phone or Zoom consultation to discuss your upcoming session and allow me to get to know you and your pet better. If you have a dog that would benefit from an in-person meeting at the studio, we can make arrangements for that as well.

Investment

The minimum investment required to purchase prints starts at $380 for a 5x7 print package. However, many clients choose to invest between $850 and $1,500. We provide a diverse selection of products to cater to different preferences and budgets. If you would like a comprehensive price list, please feel free to inquire, and we will promptly email it to you.

While you wait

The delivery time for products can vary and may take up to 6 weeks, depending on the specific items you have ordered and the number of ongoing projects I am working on. In the meantime, I will post a sneak peek on Facebook so that you can share and delight your family and friends with highlights from your session.

The Studio

As soon as you step into the studio, you will be greeted by a display of printed images showcasing my past clients on a variety of unique and high-quality products that I offer. This space also serves as the area where you can return to review and purchase your portraits. If you plan to be photographed with your pet, I have a dedicated changing room available, separate from the bathroom, where you can safely store your personal belongings during the session.

Now, let's talk about the shooting space itself. I dedicated the past three years to finding the perfect studio space that addresses all the concerns pet owners might have. The floor is polished concrete, ensuring that any accidents are easily taken care of and cleaned up. Since the unit is a commercial space, there are no concerns about the noise level if your dog happens to be on the vocal side. In fact, you might find that I make more funny and silly noises than your dogs most of the time!

The Finished Product

Once your session is complete, Erica will schedule your purchase appointment for one week later to showcase and discuss your images. Don't worry, she will guide you through a simple and efficient system to help you narrow down your favorites quickly. The studio offers a wide range of products to accommodate various budgets. While the minimum investment starts at $380, most clients typically invest around $1,000. In addition to the traditional matted prints, we also offer unique options. Our newest addition for 2023 is the Folio Boxes, which have been incredibly popular due to the inclusion of multiple images along with the digital files!

Can I request Digital Files?

At Erica Lane Photography, our specialty lies in printed products. We are a full-service studio that aims to provide our clients with a comprehensive photographic experience from start to finish. Depending on the amount you invest in printed products, we do offer social media or high-resolution files as part of the package. These files allow you to share your session with friends online and serve as a backup in case the unfortunate happens and your prints get damaged. However, we firmly believe that the ultimate outcome of a photograph is a tangible print, rather than mere data stored on a hard drive.
